To me nothing says spring quite like a farmer's market. This morning my mom and went to the Lansdowne market and it was so fun. So many samples!! We found so many fun locally made products which would make the whole 100 mile diet super easy. If you haven't gone to one, GO FIND ONE. It's so rewarding to support local markets!
I always wait until the last minute to get my pictures ready for Little Miss which, to be honest, has been around 7:30, 8 pm at night. But I mean common! There's still sun out, might as well enjoy it!
This jacket gets me through this transitional season, I pretty much never leave the house without it.
I'm wearing my dad's jacket, my mom's scarf, Zara pants, Nine West boots and a tee from the gap!
Have a happy Friday!
This band is so fun. SO FUN. They rock and roll and make me wanna dance. And today I have so many reasons to dance: shadowing is going so well, I'm moving in a few days, AND I AM FULLY LICENSED!!!!! Give Alabama Shakes a listen and enjoy!
This week I have the awesome opportunity of shadowing a cool advertising / marketing / strategy company called Banfield in Ottawa, and you know what that means...
big girl clothes!!!!!!
Mini victories, but still fantastic. Banfield is being such a wonderful host for me. As an arts student I don't really have a lot of opportunities to learn about how the business world works, and since I couldn't turn my back on my love of history in order to pursue a business degree, my week of shadowing is a neat for me. And duh, dressing up is always a fun thing for me.
Guys, I'm, like, almost a real person. Almost.
I'm wearing H&M pants, a Banana Republic shirt, Dolce Vita boots which I figuratively never take off, and my adorable Cynthia Rowley coat.
I'm 2 days down, 3 to go and loving it thus far!
So yes, I took Saturday and Sunday off from the blog, but it was not without reason! I had my last exam Saturday morning (9am exams make me holler honey boo boo amiright?! no.), then I packed up my room in Kingston and migrated back to Ottawa for my last week in Central Ontario. Yesterday I spent the whole day, like the WHOLE DAY, working on an essay that was due at midnight which I submitted at 11:56 pm.
You know what that means, right? IT IS OFFICIALLY SUMMER FOR THIS LITTLE MISS!
Hard to tell right now as it is raining cats and dogs outside, but summer nonetheless. And since it is now summer, I have taken it upon myself to think of things I would like to do this summer while I'm out west in Vancouver (Vancity friends, gimme ideas in the comments!). I made a mini list of some things I saw that caught my eye, check them out!
Let me begin with stating that if loving tacos makes me basic, then I accept my fate. Tacos are my heroine. I guess you can imagine how I reacted when I learned out TacoFest happening May 9th. I pretty much freaked out and tried to figure out if I could bring my own guac (The answer was no btw). Vancouver has a staggering amount of food festivals over the summer, so pray for my waistline, friends! Check out some other festivals on the BC Passport website!
A big part of my summer is travelling to and from my cottage, and since I won't be there this summer I think I should go to wine country. If I can't go to a lake, I will drink wine. A lot of wine. This picture is from the Stags Hollow Winery, and there's a whole list on Hello BC's Website! CHECK THEM OUT.
When my ticket out west was booked a part of my heart cried because it meant I would be unable to see my girl Lana del Rey kill it in Montreal again this summer. Since I can't see Lana (unless I go to Sasquatch) I want to see some music. I've heard a lot about Squamish so cross your fingers I'll do that, so see some music. Summer and concerts go hand in hang, friends, it's a fact.
Finally, I really love being outside. So maybe I'll climb a mountain? (Because that worked so well last time, eh Geoff?) In any case I am unbelievably excited for my summer adventure! If you know of other fun things happening out there this summer, LET ME KNOW please I like having fun.
Today marks the day when this blog first started! HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY LITTLE MISS! This has been such an incredible year and I am so happy with how my blog has turned out. To celebrate I made healthy cookies with my favourite healthy friend, Rosey (Check out her healthy food and fitness blog).
Here's what you need:
Mix ingredients together, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until sufficiently golden.
Then eat! They're pretty guilt free and yummy!
Make a batch and celebrate my anniversary with me!
I don't know what it is about my mom jeans but I always find myself reaching for a crop top to pair with it. I think it's because the jeans are so slouchy that I want to add structure to the jeans and my outfits with a shirt that's more fitted. It's a pretty easy trick, mixing slouchy with fitted, and it adds a lot of depth to your outfit.
I'm wearing Dolce Vita boots, Zara jeans, and an American Apparel crop top.
With the weather getting warmer I've started trying not to wear too many layers to try to get into that spring time feel.
I won't say anything about what's going on outside because I am a weather jinx, but what I can say is that it is glorious walking around without my parka on. The sun is my best friend these days, I'm applying an extra coat of SPF. This jacket gets so much action pretty much all year round except when it's snowing outside. I have often thought maybe I should update my dad's old jacket with a newer, more modern version, but then I think "why mess with a good thing".
I'm wearing Zara pants, a Forever21 shirt, and my dad's jacket.
Enjoy the sunshine, my friends!
With Coachella happening 4,210km away from me (2,615.973 miles for those who don't use the metric system), I find myself longing for warmer weather, loud music, flower crowns, and not having to wear a coat. I have basically been living vicariously through snapchat's live feed of the festival and through street style pictures from the event. Peruse these images I found and lust with me for sun, sound and sandals.
